2006年のアスペルガー博士生誕100年を記念して、世界の当事者が国際アスペルガー年と制定してネットワークを結び、記念イベントを世界各地で開催しました。日本ではアスペ・エルデの会と佐賀のそれいゆが登録団体としてイベントを行いました。

翌年以降は博士の誕生日である2月18日を国際アスペルガーデーとし、当事者団体がイベントを行っています。

中心団体のthe Asperger Adults of Greater Washingtonは記念の食事会をしたそうです。

オーストラリアでは2月20日にセミナーを行います。メールの内容を転載します。

>We are a little behind with our news, but we are commemorating Dr Hans Asperger's work on Saturday 20th February with a seminar.

>Speakers: Prof Tony Attwood, Special Guest Kathy Hoopmann (Author of All Cats have Asperger's Syndrome, and three adults)

>Prof Attwood will update us on the latest research, continuation of Hans Asperger's work around the world and questions time.　Other topics to be discussed will be "Having AS traits living in an NT environment", "Toastmaster & AS", and "Asperger Parenting a two way dialogue"
